-Fresh, lean design
-Powered by a air-cooled engine possibly based on the N150
-Gets new alloy wheels and disc brake
The new Bajaj Pulsar N125 has been leaked online, a few days before its official unveil and launch. The bike features a completely new design and is being pegged as a lightweight, agile city commuter. Here are all the details that we can spot in the production spec motorcycle.
Lean design language
The Bajaj Pulsar N125 looks lean and reminiscent of the Pulsar 135 LS. Starting with the headlight, the inverted triangle design of the headlight gives it a sporty face. It appears that the headlight is a halogen unit and not an LED but we can only confirm this once the bike has been officially unveiled. That said, the possibility of this being an LED unit cannot be ruled out. One can, however, spot the halogen turn indicators that sit above the headlight.
The fuel tank looks sharp and athletic, especially with the tank extensions that extend beyond the front fork. The side panels are neatly executed, especially with the silver coloured portion. The tail section is upswept and just like the front end, this also looks sporty.
On the whole, the bike looks stylish especially with the bold graphics that the young audience will appreciate. Other design bits that stand out include the wide, spilt seats, the chunky grab rail for the pillion and the digital display.
Engine and chassis
The Pulsar N125 is expected to be powered by a air-cooled, single cylinder engine that is based on the engine that is present in the Bajaj Pulsar N150. It should produce around 12bhp and 11-12Nm which is in the same ball park as its primary competition, the TVS Raider 125.
The chassis also appears to be derived from the Pulsar N150. While the frame maybe the same, the telescopic fork and the monoshock might be different. The bike seems to be riding on new alloy wheels that are shod with what appears to wide MRF tyres. As for the braking, there is a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.
Bajaj is expected to unveil the bike on 21 October. The price should hover around Rs 90,000 to Rs 95,000, ex-showroom.
