Bajaj Pulsar NS125: What else can you buy?

Bajaj’s NS line-up has recently been expanded further with the addition of the Pulsar NS125. Apart from the smaller 125cc engine, it borrows its styling, features and majority of the hardware from its larger siblings, the Pulsar NS160 and NS200. The motorcycle has been priced at Rs 93,690. Although the Pulsar NS125 is an attractive package for someone looking for a sporty small-displacement bike, there are equally desirable options around a similar price range. Let’s see what they are.

Bajaj Pulsar 150 Neon: Rs 95,872

Bajaj’s own line-up has the bigger Pulsar 150 Neon at just Rs 2,000 more than NS125. It boasts the good old Pulsar design that has been popular in India for years. And the Neon edition in particular gets contrast-coloured accents, complementing its muscular styling. Powering the bike is a 149.5cc, air-cooled mill that makes 13.79bhp and 13.4Nm.

Honda Unicorn: Rs 97,356

If you want something with a larger displacement than the Pulsar 150 but with a more commute-centric character, the Honda Unicorn is another long-running and trusted offering. It features an old but likeable design with comfortable ergonomics. But most importantly, the 162.7cc engine propelling the Unicorn is extremely smooth and it produces 12.73bhp and 14Nm.

Left Front Three Quarter

Revolt RV 300: Rs 94,999

For the environmentalists who want to become a part of the electric revolution, the Revolt RV 300 makes for a good choice. It gets a proper ICE-powered motorcycle-like design with a low-slung headlamp, muscular mid-section and a sleek tail. But hiding under the plastic panels is a 1.5kW motor powered by a 2.7kWh battery that concertedly deliver a top speed of 65kmph and a range of 180km. But it’s worth noting that the RV 300 is available only in select cities.

Right Rear Three Quarter

Aprilia SR 125: Rs 94,288

For the riders who want the convenience of a scooter but wrapped up in a sporty package, the Aprilia SR 125 should be your go-to choice. With a styling identical to the SR 160, it is powered by a 124.45cc, three-valve engine that churns out 9.78bhp and 9.7Nm. Above all, it incorporates a hardware package that makes for motorcycle-like handling dynamics and stability.
