- Bajaj Pulsar NS160 BS6 is Rs 9,000 more expensive than the BS4 model
- Carbureted engine has been replaced by a fuel-injected mill
- Remains the same in all other aspects
Ahead of the official launch of the new Bajaj Pulsar NS160 BS6, our dealer sources have revealed the price of the motorcycle. The updated model of the street bike carries a price tag of Rs 1,04,652 (ex-showroom, Delhi) which is a hefty premium of around Rs 9,000 over its BS4 counterpart. Interestingly, select Bajaj dealers have also started accepting bookings for the motorcycle.
In order to comply with stricter emission norms, the 160.3cc, oil-cooled, carbureted engine of the Pulsar NS160 will be replaced by a fuel-injected unit. This might result in a moderate variation in its power figures over the outgoing model which makes 15.3bhp and 14.6Nm. Meanwhile, it will continue to be mated to a five-speed gearbox.
Similar to the recently-launched Pulsar 150 BS6, the new NS160 could also remain unchanged in all other aspects. The design of the motorcycle is identical to its elder sibling, the Pulsar NS200, and it will be retained on the BS6 version. However, minor changes such as a new set of decals would give it a fresh appeal.
The cycle parts will remain the same as the previous model which includes 17-inch wheels with telescopic forks up front and gas-charged monoshock at the rear. Stopping power comes from disc brakes at both ends with single-channel ABS.
The new Bajaj Puslar 160 BS6 will go up against the new Suzuki Gixxer BS6, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V BS6, Honda CB Hornet 160R and Yamaha FZ S V3 BS6.
