The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 has been spotted testing in Pune. Though the test mule was heavily camouflaged, the recognisable design language gives away the motorcycle’s identity.
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is built on a revised version of the Pulsar NS200’s perimeter frame. Bits like the headlamp and tank design, foot pegs, instrument cluster, turn indicators as well as the clip-on handlebars have been borrowed from the Pulsar NS200, though it gets smaller 33mm front forks. The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is powered by a 160cc oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine delivering 15.3bhp and 14.6 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with a disc brake up front and a drum brake at the rear.
Bajaj currently sells the Pulsar 160NS in a few global markets, though it has not been launched in India yet. While the Pulsar NS160 is more advanced than the Pulsar 150, it would be difficult for Bajaj to offer the Pulsar NS160 with the same lucrative price tag. And even though the Pulsar AS150 was discontinued a few months ago, we do not expect the Pulsar NS160 to be launched here anytime soon. This market space will continue to be occupied by the Pulsar NS200.
