The newest of the Pulsars, the NS160 from Bajaj Auto, has been spotted without camouflage in the country, while undergoing testing. The bike was last showcased in Turkey in late December 2016. Although the test mule has been spotted testing in the country, it will not be launched in India anytime soon and will only be exported overseas.
The Pulsar NS160 is powered by a 160cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that generates 15bhp of power at 8500rpm and 14.6Nm of maximum torque at 6500rpm. The bike comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. The international spec model will get a single-channel ABS system. Speaking of features, it gets backlit switchgear, disc brake on the front, LED taillamp and tubeless tyres.
Currently, Bajaj auto has a wide range of Pulsar motorcycles in the country and with decent sales numbers for the 150cc and the 200cc variants, the 160cc version is unlikely to find a place in the India product line-up. Moreover, India being a price sensitive market, a higher priced Pulsar NS160 is unlikely to lure buyers in the country.
