The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 has started to arrive at dealerships ahead of its official launch. The bike with its 160cc 15.3bhp engine is priced at Rs 1.02 lakh (on-road Mumbai) and is a bridge between the Pulsar 150 and the NS200.

Beginning at the Bajaj stable, there is the Pulsar 180 with its 178cc engine,which produces 17bhp at 8500rpm and 14Nm at 6500rpm. The Pulsar 180 is one of the Pune manufacturer’s best-selling duos apart from the Pulsar 150 and comes with a price tag of Rs 95,283. The manufacturer also offers a comfortable cruiser, the Avenger 220 Cruise, which features a low slung seat, long wheelbase, big windshield and sweptback handlebars to improve its comfort during long hauls. It shares the same 220cc engine as the Pulsar 220F that generates 19bhp at 8400rpm and 17.50Nm of torque at 7000rpm. The 220 Avenger Cruise retails at Rs 1.03 lakh.
Semi-faired variants of the NS160’s competitors are available in the form of the Suzuki Gixxer SF and Yamaha Fazer FI 2.0 which both come with a price tag of Rs 1.06 lakhs. The Gixxer SF uses the same 155cc engine as its naked sibling which produces peak power of 14.60bhp at 8000rpm and peak torque at 14Nm at 6000rpm. The Fazer FI 2.0 features a 149cc mill which churns out 13bhp of power at 8000rpm and 12.80Nm of torque at 6000rpm. Yamaha claims a 14 per cent increase in fuel economy for the Fazer FI 2.0 due to its ‘Blue Core’ technology. If an automatic scooter is what you are looking for, the retro-designed Vespa VXL 150 with its 150cc engine, puts out 11.4bhp at 7000rpm and 11.50Nm of peak torque at 5500rpm. The Italian scooter comes with a price tag of Rs 98,518 and has a host of features like an electronic display in the instrument cluster and other customisable accessories.
