Bajaj is gearing up for the launch of the biggest and most powerful Pulsar yet, the NS400. The bike has been spotted testing multiple times and details regarding its hardware, design, and a few more aspects are already out. So, here is what we know so far about the Bajaj Pulsar NS400.
Design
From what we have seen so far in the spy shots, the design of the Pulsar NS400 appears to be an evolution of the Pulsar NS200 This is evident when you look at the fuel tank area near the rider seat, the split seat setup and the rear section too.
Its headlight, although looks distinct, is reminiscent of the NS200 and the N250. There is a center-set projector LED lamp with thunderbolt-shaped LED DRLs on the side. Bajaj is likely to offer the NS400 in multiple colours and the options could include the red paint scheme that we have seen in the spy shots and two more options- white and black.
Engine
Bajaj has two engine options available to plonk in the Pulsar NS400. It could either be the KTM 390 Duke's 399cc engine or the Dominar's 373cc engine. We think the Pulsar NS400 might get the 373cc motor sourced from the Dominar 400. The unit makes 39.42bhp and a torque of 35Nm in its current state of tune. It will be linked to a six-speed gearbox.
Features
The Chakan-based bikemaker is likely preparing for its biggest launch of 2024. So, we expect the Pulsar NS400 to come with all the bells and whistles. The list could include full LED illumination, a digital console with smartphone connectivity for call and SMS alerts, and navigation too. Our sources have revealed that the unit is likely the same one that we have seen on the new NS200.
You can also expect the Pulsar NS400 to boast traction control and ABS modes.
Hardware
The recent spy shots have already revealed that the new Bajaj Pulsar will ride on USD front forks and a monoshock. Its braking duties will be done by a front and rear disc mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in MRF tyres.
Expected Price
Bajaj could position the Pulsar NS400 below the Dominar 400 and the latter is likely to remain the flagship offering for the brand. So, we expect the Pulsar NS400 to be priced in the Rs. 2-2.20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the BMW G 310 R, TVS Apache RTR 310 and the KTM 390 Duke.
