- Launched at an introductory price of Rs. 1.85 lakh
- All colours are pegged the same
Bajaj Auto has finally launched the Pulsar NS400Z in India. The biggest-ever Pulsar has a lot of impressive traits, including its introductory price tag of Rs. 1.85 lakh, which make it a desirable option in the 300-400cc space. While the company has kept its design similar to the smaller and older Pulsar NS200, it has given the NS400 a distinctive visual persona with a fresh set of decals adorning the new colour options.
The Pulsar NS400Z comes in four paint schemes. For those who want their bike to look vibrant and swanky, there are Glossy Racing Red and Pearl Metallic White trims. These two colours should catch the attention of onlookers more than the relatively understated Brooklyn Black and Pewter Grey. All these colour variants get a bold ‘NS’ branding on fuel tank extensions, a ‘400’ number on the underbelly cowl, and an ‘NS400’ badge on the tail section.
The motorcycle shares its 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with the Dominar 400. This unit produces 39.4bhp and 35Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox and an assist and slipper clutch. It rides on 17-inch wheels that are suspended by 43mm USD forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock while braking duties are handled by a single disc at both ends. Interestingly, the Pulsar NS400Z weighs 174kg which makes it around 20kg lighter than the Dominar.
The NS400Z comes equipped with more features than we have seen on any other Pulsar so far. It gets four riding modes which alter the throttle response and the level of ABS intervention. Plus, there’s switchable traction control, a USB charger, a Bluetooth-enabled colour LCD dash with turn-by-turn navigation, and full-LED lighting.
