Bajaj recently launched the BS6-compliant Pulsar RS200 in India at Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom). At that price, you have three other motorcycles to choose from. Here is the list-
If you are looking to buy a faired motorcycle, there are two options. One of them is the KTM RC 125 that is available for Rs 1.47 lakh. The RC 125, like its other siblings, sports a sharp design language distinguished by the twin-LED projector headlamps and LED DRLs. Built on a trellis frame, the KTM RC 125 is powered by a 124cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with fuel injection. This motor is capable of putting out 14.3bhp of power and 12Nm of torque. KTM is offering the RC 125 with a single-channel ABS.
The other faired option is the Yamaha YZF R15 V3 priced at Rs 1.45 lakh for the standard version. It is also offering in a Racing Blue colour priced at Rs 1.46 lakh and a Dark Night edition which costs Rs 1.47 lakh. Borrowing its styling from the bigger Yamaha R1, the R15 V3 gets a split full-LED headlamps. The motorcycle uses a ‘Deltabox’ frame which houses a 155cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine with liquid-cooling. This motor produces 18.3bhp of power and 14.1Nm of torque. The Yamaha R15 V3 comes with dual-channel ABS as standard.
Yamaha also offers a streetfighter in this price range in the form of the MT-15. The motorcycle is based on the R15 V3 and uses the same 155cc engine. However, the motor on the MT-15 produces 18.2bhp; slightly lower than its faired counterpart. It gets an aggressive streetfighter stance and styling thanks to the low-slung LED projector and DRL headlamp and upright riding position. Yamaha has fitted the MT-15 with a box-type swingarm and equipped the motorcycle with a single-channel ABS to price it lower than the R15 at Rs 1.38 lakh for the base variant and Rs 1.39 lakh for the Special Edition.
