Bajaj has revealed that the newest Pulsar motorcycle in its line-up, the Pulsar RS200, clocked over 1,000 bookings within a week of its launch in March, this year. While it was expected that the company’s first fully-faired motorcycle was going to rake in some serious bookings in the first few days, this kind of response for the Pulsar RS200 is quite overwhelming.
The Pulsar RS200 is based on the Pulsar 200NS nakedperimeter frame, though it gets a revised steering geometry to suit the ‘Race Sport’ motorcycle’s character. It is powered by a fuel-injected version of the 199.5cc single-cylinder engine that delivers 24bhp and 19Nm of torque through a six-speed transmission.
The Pulsar RS200 gets a very aerodynamic body which is identical to that of the Pulsar SS400. It gets several modern features like twin-projector headlamps, LED DRLs and ABS. Though the company had started production of the Pulsar RS200 a while ago, the Pulsar RS200 currently enjoys a waiting of two to three weeks.
With a claimed top speed of 141kmph, the Pulsar RS200 has been pegged as the ‘fastest Pulsar ever’. It is available in two variants – a standard version and the second one with ABS. Prices start at Rs 1.18 lakh for the standard bike while the ABS version retails at Rs 1.30 lakh, both ex-showroom Delhi.
