Amidst the recent unveiling of the Bajaj Pulsar SS200 in many countries abroad, now we have the pictures of the new motorcycle being displayed at a Trade far in Turkey. The upcoming new bike is yet to be launched and may officially go on sale in the coming months in India.
The Bajaj Pulsar SS200 is a fuly faired sports version of the Pulsar 200NS, using the same engine, chassis and suspension. The SS200 will carry over most of the elements from the Pulsar SS400 displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo. The main highlights are the new dual-projector headlamps, DRLS, new OVRMs, clip-on handle-bars and a sporty design. The side lamps are carried over from the KTM Duke 200 and 390, while the rear tyre hugger is from the NS200. It will be offered in four colours, be shodded with MRF tyres and will come with disc brakes on both ends.
The power plant on the SS200 is a single-cylinder 200cc water-cooled mill that features a fuel-injection system. This is an upgrade from the 200NS available in India. However, it comes as a standard unit for Turkey for the NS and will also be offered with the SS200. This motor is expected to produce 24.42bhp of power, slightly more than the 23.52bhp power output of the 200NS. The motorcycle will be offered in both non-ABS and ABS variants.
The Bajaj Pulsar SS200 will offer a 'super-sport' experience to owners and compete with the Yamaha YZF R15 V2.0, KTM RC200, Honda CBR250R and the upcoming Hero HX250R in the Indian market. It might be priced competitively in the range of Rs 1.2lakh to Rs 1.4lakh.
