Bajaj motorcycles showcased the SS400 at the 2014 Auto Expo and based on it, the SS200 was under development. This younger sibling of the SS400 and CS 400 was snapped in India at Bajaj’s test track at their manufacturing facility in Pune.
The Pulsar SS200 is the full-faired version of the NS200, the naked motorcycle from Bajaj Auto. This fully-faired bike gets many changes to the design even though it will be underpinned by the architecture of the NS200. The front aggressive profile boasts projector headlamps and DRLs. Despite most of the elements being borrowed from the NS200, the addition of the fairing has changed the entire look of the motorcycle.
The Bajaj Pulsar SS200 will be powered by the same 200cc engine from the NS200. This motor churns out 23bhp of power and 18Nm of torque. The company might retune this engine to develop slightly more power in a bid to handle the extra weight of the fairing.
The Pulsar SS200 has been spied testing several times in our country and is expected to be launched in mid-2014. It will then be the first fully-faired motorcycle from Bajaj’s line up. We can expect the company to price the SS200 higher than the NS200 by Rs 20,000 or so. The CS400 and the SS400 might follow suit.
