Bajaj Auto has aggressive plans for the Indian market which includes product launches and improving their market share. On these lines, the company will launch six products in the next six months. Will this include the Pulsar SS400?
Bajaj motorcycles confirmed that a new 100cc bike will be launched during this quarter, while another 400cc will be launched this year. The company had dropped a bomb by unveiling the SS400 motorcycle last year at the Auto Expo. So according to the company's current plan, we can expect the SS400 to be finally launched by June this year.
S Ravikumar, Bajaj Auto President, Business Development and Assurance, said, 'In the next six months, there will be one launch every month from us. In the 100 cc segment, we have the Platina to address the value-for-money customers and Discover for executives. The new model will have its own space. We also will launch a 400 cc bike under our flagship Pulsar brand.'
The Bajaj Pulsar SS400 is expected to be powered by the same 373.2cc engine from the KTM Duke 390 and RC390. It might produce slightly less power than the KTM siblings but will still be sufficient enough to be more powerful than its competitors. And with prices being considerably lower than the RC390, the SS400 should become the most competitive fully-faired motorcycle to be offered in India.
Though there is no confirmation about all the models that will be launched by Bajaj, we can expect a new Platina and a Discover to be introduced soon. These new products are expected to increase the company's market share that has decreased by a substantial amount. Let us hope that these periodic launches create a new space in the mass market and eventually help Bajaj Auto up their market share. For the Indian consumers it is good news as they will get new and refreshed products from Bajaj's line-up this year.
