- Bajaj Pulsar 220F BS6 arrives at dealerships
- Priced Rs 9,000 more than its BS4 version
- Produces nearly the same power but weighs 5kgs more now
The BS6 model of the Bajaj Pulsar 220F has started reaching dealerships in India, ahead of its official launch. The motorcycle has been priced at Rs 1,16,710 (ex-sshowroom, Mumbai) which is premium of around Rs 9,000 over its BS4 counterpart. In case you’re planning to get your hands on one, select dealers have also begun the deliveries of the motorcycle.
The Pulsar 220F is one of the longest-running models in Bajaj’s line-up. The design of the motorcycle has remained largely the same since its inception and it continues to be unchanged with the BS6 update as well. What’s tweaked is the engine that now features fuel-injection, in place of the BS4 motor’s carbureted set up. An ECU and a larger catalytic converter have also been added. As we had reported recently, the power figures have seen a negligible drop and now stand at 20.6bhp and 18.55Nm.
The Pulsar 220F gets projector headlamp for illumination, accompanied by LED position lamps and split LED tail lamp. All the information is displayed on a semi-digital instrument cluster. In terms of cycle parts, it continues to ride on 17-inch wheels which are suspended by telescopic forks up front and gas-charged dual shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is handled by disc brake at both ends with single-channel ABS as standard. The additional components incorporated for BS6 compliance have increased the kerb weight of the bike by 5kgs and now it weighs 155kgs.
The Bajaj Pulsar 220F BS6 is available in three colour options including Laser Black, Nuclear Blue and Dyno Red.
