- Sells over 2 lakh motorcycles
- Records highest monthly domestic sales number this year
- Exports grew by 42 per cent
Bajaj has recorded a whopping 86 per cent growth in motorcycle sales in June 2018, as compared to the corresponding period in 2017. The Pune-based manufacturer sold 2,00,949 motorcycles in the domestic market, which is the highest monthly sales figure in this year so far.
With this, Bajaj has retained its spot as the country’s fourth largest two-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj also had an exceptional month with the export market. The company shipped 1.36 lakh motorcycles to its global markets in the last month as compared to 96,558 motorcycles in June 2017, reflecting a growth of 42 per cent. The overall sales number stood at 3.37 lakh motorcycle, which represents a growth of 65 per cent.
The Pulsar 150 and the CT100 are the two highest-selling models in Bajaj’s range. While they may be from different segments, both the motorcycles rank high on the value-for-money scale, which has played a big role in making them so popular. Last month, Bajaj launched an entry-level model in the Pulsar range, called the Classic, priced at Rs 67,437 (ex-showroom).
