- Bajaj RS 200 to get dual-channel ABS soon
- To be priced at Rs 1,42,014, a premium of Rs 1,402 over the single-channel version
- Will remain the same cosmetically and mechanically
The Pulsar RS 200 is Bajaj Auto’s only fully-faired motorcycle in its product portfolio. Now, according to our sources, the bike maker is on the verge of introducing a dual-channel ABS version of the motorcycle shortly. Considering the fact that its direct rivals are offering dual-channel ABS as standard, it’s all the more necessary now to stay competitive in the segment. As for the pricing, Bajaj will be marketing the dual-channel ABS equipped RS 200 at Rs 1,43,016 (ex-showroom, Jaipur), which is a premium of Rs 1,402 over the single-channel ABS version.
Besides the ABS update, the motorcycle is likely to remain mechanically and cosmetically the same. It will continue to sport the bug-like fairing with dual-projector lamps and fairing with racy graphics. As for the motor, it will continue to be the same 199cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder mill with Bajaj’s Triple Spark technology. The motor is tuned to produce 24.5bhp and 18.6Nm and comes coupled to a six-speed gearbox. For the price hike, it is unlikely that Bajaj will offer a BS6-compliant motor. Expect the company to introduce the same sometime closer to the 1 April deadline.
Bajaj currently offers the Pulsar RS 200 with the choice of three colour options, Graphite Black, Racing Blue and Racing Red.
