- Bajaj officially takes over Triumph India operations
- Will manage 15 Triumph showrooms
- First bike launch to happen later this year
Bajaj has finally taken over the Triumph showrooms and its operations in India. A total of 15 Triumph showrooms will now be managed by the Pune-based manufacturer.
This development is a part of the new motorcycle launches under this partnership. In 2020, both these brands joined hands to co-develop and manufacture entry-level Triumph motorcycles. As a part of this deal, Triumph will co-develop multiple bikes with Bajaj, and the latter brand will manufacture them at their Chakan plant. These motorcycles will be sold in India and exported to markets where Triumph does business.
The first range of bikes from this partnership will be launched in India later this year. As of now, two bikes have been spotted testing – one is a scrambler, and the other one is a modern retro motorcycle. Bajaj is likely to launch both these bikes later this year, and they are expected to displace the 400cc.
We believe this new range of Triumph bikes will help the brand acquire additional market share in this growing premium space. And due to their affordable pricing, they are likely to sell in big numbers, in India and abroad.
