Bajaj Motorcycles will discontinue the Pulsar NS200 after the festive season. Instead of this bike, the company wants to push the recently launched the Pulsar AS200 into the market.
The Pune-based manufacturer had conveyed this announcement to all its dealers during the launch of the Pulsar AS200. The Pulsar NS200 and the Pulsar AS200 is essentially the same motorcycle, except for few cosmetic changes. The Pulsar AS200 gets a new half fairing that sports a projector lamp, which makes the motorcycle look better than the naked sibling. It also gets a new rear mudguard and a number plate assembly.
Mechanically, there aren’t any changes between the two motorcycles. The AS200 continues to be powered by the 200cc liquid-cooled single cylinder engine that produces 23.52bhp at 9,500rpm and peak torque of 18.3Nm at 8,000rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox, which is a pretty good one.
With the Pulsar NS200 making its way out of the Indian market, the Pune-based manufacturer will soon launch the Pulsar NS180, along with a 150cc version. From the spy shots which we have managed to receive in the last few months, it is clear that the NS180 looks exactly like the Pulsar NS200 and uses the same perimeter frame.
