After a gap of few months, Bajaj Motorcycles is on a launch spree. It first launched the Platina 100ES, followed by the launch of the much awaited the Pulsar RS200 and then it launched the Pulsar AS200 and the Pulsar AS150.
So many launches within a gap of two months clearly show the aggressive launch strategy of Bajaj Motorcycles, which had lost market share to its rivals due to lack of good products. Bajaj had a lot of variants under the Discover brand, however, it failed to set the sales charts on fire. This failure resulted in a statement coming from Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Motorcycles that they shouldn’t have followed the competitors and should have focused mainly on the performance bikes. However, as per a report by Zigwheels, the Pune-based manufacturer is planning to introduce a new mass market commuter brand in the next few months.
Bajaj already has the Platina and the Discover to service the mass-market segment. However, we are expecting this new brand to be limited only to a certain displacement. We won’t be surprised if Bajaj limits the Platina and Discover to 100cc and 110cc segment respectively. Over the last few months, the 125cc segment has been growing quite a bit and there is a high chance that the new brand from Bajaj will cater to this segment.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we get you more details from the makers of the Pulsars.
