Bajaj Motorcycles will launch the CS400 at the end of the FY 2015-2016. The bike that was unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo has created a lot of hype around the budget premium motorcycle segment.
Called the cruiser sports, the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 is one of the best looking bikes that have come from the Akurdi research and development facility. It gets an aggressive front with a new headlamp and the fuel tank design looks different from the rest of the Pulsars. The bike also sports a digital console and gear shift indicator with white backlight, which looks nice.
The Pulsar CS400 is powered by a 375cc engine that also powers the KTM Duke 390. However, this engine will be re-worked to deliver better torque figures. While Bajaj has released no details on the engine specifications, we expect this newly developed engine to feature fuel injection and produce at least 40bhp. The concept motorcycle features the upside down forks but we can expect the production version to get the traditional telescopic one to keep costs in check.
Just like the rest of the bikes, we are expecting Bajaj to price the Pulsar CS400 competitively. Unfortunately, like the Adventure Sport and the Racing Sport variants of the Pulsars, the CS400 will be launched only in the 400cc avatar and won’t see a smaller displacement version anytime soon. We are expecting the production version of the CS400 to be showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, followed by the national launch.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we will get you more details on the Bajaj CS400.
