- Pulsar 125 coming soon
- Will become the most affordable Pulsar in India
- Likely to be launched in the next few weeks
Bajaj is gearing up to launch their most affordable Pulsar, the Pulsar 125 in India. This motorcycle is expected to be launched in the next few weeks.
The upcoming Pulsar 125 will be based on the Pulsar 150. There have been rumours in the industry that the Pulsar NS 125 – the bike that is sold in the international market will be launched in India. However, according to our sources, the whole idea of the introduction of a 125cc variant is to offer an affordable product. The NS125 will be expensive compared to the Pulsar 125 as it’s built on a different platform, and the cycle parts are a bit expensive to make.
The rising cost of the two-wheelers, thanks to the introduction of ABS and now the upcoming BS-VI emission norms, made the Pune-based manufacturer take this call. Plus, the recent increase of insurance costs have also impact the buying power of the Indian buyers. Bajaj believes that with the Pulsar 125, it will be able to cater to a segment that wants a performance brand but with less displacement and better fuel efficiency.
In terms of engine figures, there’s no information on it yet, but expect Bajaj to use the same 125cc air-cooled 13bhp motor that is mated to a five-speed gearbox. We’re expecting a price tag of around Rs 63,000 (ex-showroom) for this Pulsar.
