Bajaj Motorcycles is all set to launch their new Avenger range tomorrow. The company is betting big on these motorcycles to help them gain additional market share in the performance segment.
The Avenger was in need of a major update as it was being sold in a 220cc version since many years now. While the bike didn’t really have a competition in its price segment, the overall design and styling was getting a little boring for the consumers.
The new Avenger will be sold in two variants - Avenger Street and the Avenger Cruise. While the former gets an all-black treatment which looks pretty good, the latter gets a slight chrome addition. Powering these bikes is the same 220cc single-cylinder mill that produces 19bhp and 17Nm of torque. This mill is mated to a five-speed gearbox.
As per some rumours, Bajaj might launch a 150cc version of the Avenger as well. And if it does, Bajaj will be able to cater to a new segment of buyers who are looking for a cruiser but in a lower displacement. We are expecting Bajaj to price the base version of the new Avenger on par with the current model. However, the Avenger Street will demand a premium of Rs 3000 to Rs 5000.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we get you more details from the launch event tomorrow.
