Bajaj Auto has confirmed to launch the new Pulsar in the Indian market this festive season. The new motorcycle is likely to be the bigger Pulsar 375 whose engine is based on the KTM Duke 390. The company claims this motorcycle will be the first super sport motorcycle to be introduced in by any Indian two-wheeler manufacturer.
The Pulsar 375 is expected to have a very aggressive and inspiring overall styling; many of the components will be shared from the Pulsar 200NS. The complete console, turn indicators, design of the tank and the cowl that surrounds the console will be shared with the Pulsar 200NS.It also seems to be that the tank fuel lid has been made using the same design featured on the other Pulsars variants. One of the reasons the motorcycle is expected to have an aggressive styling is because of its twin pod headlamps along with pilot lamps.
The Pulsar 375 will be powered by the same 373cc single cylinder liquid-cooled engine that powers the KTM Duke 390. This mill churns out 43.5PS at 9000rpm and torque of 32Nm at 7250 rpm. The mill is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Bajaj feels it’s a good opportunity to launch this fully-faired motorcycle during the festive season which usually starts in September. Many Indian consumers prefer to buy a two-wheeler during that time. Once launched, Pulsar 375 will be the most premium Bajaj motorcycle till date. Pricing will play an important factor but we can expect this motorcycle to be marginally cheaper than the KTM 390 even with extra fibre fairing.
