Bajaj Motorcycles will launch the Boxer 150 in India in the next few months. This news was confirmed to BikeWale by a close source. Bajaj had discontinued the Boxer 150 in 2012 due to decreasing demand but now we have a spy image of the export model of the Boxer 150.
The Boxer 150 was spied testing in Pune along with the Discover 100 sans camouflage. The bike features five spoke alloy wheels and updated graphics. This bike was purely targeted at rural markets as a utilitarian motorcycle where it has been built to last. We expect the Pune- based manufacturer to position the bike in the same way like last time. Currently, the bike is being exported to few regions in Africa where the demand is quite good.
The Boxer is powered by a 144.8cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that churns out 11.8bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of12.26Nm at 5,000rpm. This engine is mated to a four-speed gearbox. The whole point of developing this bike was to give good performance at a very reasonable price. We at BikeWale are quite excited to review this bike, especially for load testing.
