Most of us know that the Pulsar RS200 has been the best Pulsar to come out of Bajaj’s R&D facility. In fact, the initial response to this bike has been pretty good but not anymore.
As per our source, Bajaj is having difficulties achieving the sales target for the RS200. We spoke to a couple of dealers who confirmed that there’s a lack of customer interest for the Pulsar RS200. This has resulted in dealers not stocking up the RS200 as they used to before. In fact, Bajaj had stopped the production of the RS200 a couple of days ago, to realign its production with the market demand.
Bajaj is relooking the sales strategy of the Pulsar RS200. The recently concluded Pulsar festival of speed was one such marketing initiative. Also, the company might launch a version with a new paint scheme. Currently, the Pune-based manufacturer sells the Pulsar RS200 in three colour options – yellow, red and black. The company is expecting the sales of its flagship motorcycle to increase in the next couple of months, especially during the festive season.
Update: Bajaj Auto has confirmed that the production of the Pulsar RS200 has not been stopped and the bike continues to be produced for export markets. There has been a slump in sales of the bike in the domestic market which might have affected the total number of units being produced on a daily basis, but the production of the RS200 was never halted. We stand corrected on this front and any inconvenience caused to the bike maker or our readers is regretted.
