Bajaj will be unveiling a new 100cc motorcycle today. The motorcycle was scheduled to be showcased last year.
The company claims that the new motorcycle will be targeted at the mass market segment but at the same time it will be the most expensive and technologically advanced motorcycle in its segment.
K Srinivas, president, motorcycle business, said that the motorcycle has been aimed at spicing up the commuter class of machines which he said had been filled with motorcycles with bland features and were bought just for the sake of fuel efficiency. However, he did not specify the price range in which the new motorcycle would be launched.
Last week, Mahindra 2 Wheelers unveiled a 110cc premium motorcycle called the Centuro, which have some first-in-class features like “Central locking” anti-theft system with an engine immobilizer, a remote 128-bit encrypted flip key, “find me” lamps, guide lamps, distance-to-empty calculator and service due indicator are the main features in the Centuro. And if Bajaj has features like this or even more, then we are genuinely excited for this motorcycle.
We are expecting the new motorcycle to carry forward ideas from the Pulsar 200NS and will feature more than one spark plug along with a mono shock and digital instrumentation. We will know more soon, however, and will post as soon as we get that information.
