- Bajaj Urbanite likely to launch by end of this year
- New spy pictures highlight the comfort of the scooter
- Could use a 150cc engine
The Bajaj Urbanite scooter has been spied on test again. Although this time, the spy pictures elaborate on the comfort that the scooter is likely to offer.
To begin with, the scooter sports a wide floorboard with a deep concave front apron that seems like it offers more than enough legroom. The Urbanite test mule also gets a wide seat that could be fabricated keeping in mind the comfort of larger riders. Overall, the scooter looks big and going by previous spy images, will sport a retro design language complete with a round headlamp and chrome on its front fender and mirrors. And although the Urbanite test mule was fully-camouflaged, a small tear in the cladding reveals the scooter’s paint options will consist of a maroon shade.
The Bajaj Urbanite also appears to be using 12-inch wheels with a single-sided spring at the front similar to the setup found on Vespa models. It also gets a disc brake for the front. Whether it will come with a CBS or ABS unit will be dependent on whether the scooter will come powered by a 125cc or 150cc engine. Bajaj is expected to launch the Urbanite brand in India by the end of this year or by early 2020. Apart from a petrol-powered motor, Bajaj is also planning to launch an electric variant of the Urbanite soon afterward.
