Bajaj dealers in metros and tier-1 cities have begun the deliveries of the V12. The Bajaj V12 was launched last month to compete in the growing 125cc segment.
Priced at Rs 56,283 (ex-showroom Delhi), the V12 competes with the Honda CB Shine, TVS Phoenix and Yamaha Saluto. The bike looks identical to the V15 and that’s how Bajaj wanted to keep it. The response to the V15 has been great because of its looks and the INS Vikrant connection. So things like the fat rear tyre, removable plastic cowl, and beefy exhaust that has been carried forward from the V15 are attracting a lot of price-sensitive customers to Bajaj showrooms. The dealers have been happy with the initial response the V12 has received. Interestingly, a lot of prospective V15 buyers are shifting towards the V12 and saving nearly Rs 6000.
Powering the V12 is a 125cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which is a downsized version of the V15. Bajaj hasn’t revealed the power figures of the 125cc version yet, but we expect the power to be down by 1-1.5bhp. The Bajaj V12 is available only in one colour for now, but depending on the response and feedback, the Pune-based manufacturer will introduce more paint schemes.
