- Bajaj pulls the V12 off the market
- To be back on sale in the next few months.
The Bajaj V12 has been temporarily withdrawn from the Indian market. Dealers across the country have not been receiving stocks of the bike and are refusing to accept bookings.
The V12 was launched in India last year positioned between the Discover 125 and the V15. While the V12 looks similar to its bigger sibling, it is powered by a 124cc engine. It also sports redesigned alloy wheels shod with tubed tyres, a basic-looking instrument cluster along with fewer chrome components.
The bike has seen a drop in sales over the past few months with numbers dwindling under the 1000 unit mark. On the other hand, the Discover 125 averaged over 6000 units during the same period. Seems like there are very few takers for the V12’s unique styling, with 125cc commuter customers preferring sober and conservative designs like the one on the Discover 125.
There had been a similar case with the Pulsar 135 LS a few months ago. Sales had dropped drastically and dealers had stopped stocking the bike. However, the motorcycle returned in a new avatar and a lucrative price tag.
The Bajaj V12 too, will be back in production soon and will return to the market in the next couple of months.
