It is an open secret that Bajaj has been considering introducing a new brand for its new range of motorcycles. Now, it has been confirmed that this new brand will be called Kratos and the first product to be introduced under this brand would be the VS400.
The Kratos brand has been created for premium Bajaj motorcycles and will be positioned above Pulsar range. The brand will be launched in November along with the Kratos VS400 coinciding with the festive season. The Kratos VS400 is a sports cruiser, which gets an aggressive stance with a stretched out wheelbase, low set handlebars and a muscular fuel tank. Powering the Kratos VS400 is an upgraded version of the same single-cylinder unit from the Pulsar AS200 and the Pulsar RS200. Displacing 375cc, this liquid-cooled unit produces 34bhp. For now, the Kratos VS400 will be the most powerful motorcycle in Bajaj’s line-up.
The Kratos VS400 has already gone through ARAI certification formalities and the motorcycle was also spotted at a commercial shoot in Ladakh earlier this month. We can expect the Kratos VS400 to be priced in the range of Rs 1.7 lakh to Rs 1.9 lakh, which makes it a rival to the Mahindra Mojo, Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the upcoming UM Renegade Sport S.
