Bajaj Motorcycle is reportedly working on a new mass-market motorcycle brand that will be sold alongside the Discover series.
This development was announced during company’s meeting with the shareholders. Someone from the senior management
said that the Pune-based manufacturer is working on a new commuter motorcycle platform that is in the early-stage right now. For now, the company hasn’t said anything, but it is believed that more than one displacement motorcycle will come from this new platform.
In the mass market segment, Bajaj currently sells the Platina and the Discover range of motorcycles. However, if compared with the Hero Splendor, these brands are way behind when it comes to sales numbers. This new platform is expected to have motorcycles in the 125cc-150cc range and will be priced competitively in the market.
