- Bajaj working on new EVs
- Last mile connectivity vehicles under development
- Will use Yulu’s platform to deploy it in the market
When we got you the exclusive photos of Bajaj’s new scooter, which is now called the Chetak, we also told about the company is developing more than just two-wheelers.
According to our sources, the Pune-based company’s R&D team have been working on new mobility solutions like foldable bike and single-wheel electric urban transport vehicle. Now, post the investment in Yulu, an India-based last-mile connectivity startup, the company has accelerated its R&D developments. The company is betting big on a sustainable future. As a result, a range of electric two-wheelers and mobility solutions are being developed. Bajaj will use Yulu as a platform to deploy these upcoming products before making it available for the masses.
Bajaj’s first EV, the Chetak is likely to hit the market next month. While there are news about a more powerful scooter under development, we also believe that there’s space for a cheaper Chetak in the market. So there’s some chance of a lower variant of the Chetak making its way to the market in the next few years.
