Bajaj has revealed its plans for future EVs and it aims to launch quite a few new models over the course of the next 5 years. Moreover, these will be slotted under the Chetak sub-brand and will be of different types.
Furthermore, Bajaj also has an updated Chetak e-scooter on the cards for this year. As for the models under the Chetak sub-brand, these will be of varying forms and pack different powertrains of varying capacities.
Bajaj is also eyeing to roll out 50,000 scooters in the next couple of years. With that being said, one has to note that the current plant’s capacity is limited to 9000 units annually.
The company has also established new manufacturing facility based in Akurdi, Pune. Its primary focus is scaling the volume of Bajaj’s EV lineup as well as bringing in new models to the portfolio. Lastly, the new estate will bare a production capacity of around 2,50,000 helmets by 2023.
