Bajaj-Triumph’s first motorcycle to be launched in 2022

- Bajaj-Triumph deal to be finalized in December 

- To launch first small-capacity motorcycle by 2022

The Bajaj-Triumph venture to build small-capacity motorcycles has been delayed for a while now. However, a new report confirms that the two manufacturers will finalize the deal in December this year. Triumph Motorcycle’s Chief Product Officer, Steve Sargent has also revealed that the company has already begun testing the prototype of the upcoming motorcycle. However, the production-ready version will only see the light of day in 2022.  

The motorcycle will be built on an all-new platform and is likely to carry a modern-classic styling. However we can also expect the small-capacity range to feature a streetfighter. Triumph has specified the engine capacity to be anywhere between 250cc-750cc. 

The motorcycles, which will be fully Triumph badged products, will be manufactured at Bajaj’s plant in Pune. These will then be exported to Asia, Europe and USA. As for India, the motorcycles will be sold in Triumph dealerships. The Triumph small-capacity motorcycles will compete against the likes of Royal Enfield as well as other upcoming small-capacity motorcycles from Harley-Davidson and MV Agusta.
