The Italian manufacturer’s 250cc scooter has been spotted testing in Pune for the second time. The Benelli Zafferano is a maxi-scooter sold in south-east Asian markets.
It uses a 250cc, single-cylinder engine that delivers 20.8bhp and 20.83Nm of torque and is mated to a V-belt automatic transmission. The 1488mm wheelbase, 2168mm overall length and 155kgs justify its ‘maxi-scooter’ tag. The scooter gets a large 12-litre fuel tank and 14-inch wheels. Features on the scooter include a semi-digital speedometer, step-seat and a windshield.
The Zafferano is highly unlikely to be sold here anytime soon as the Indian market is not yet ready for a scooter that is priced around Rs 2 lakhs.
