DSK Motowheels recently added a new bike to its 300cc family - the Benelli 302R. But it looks like this won’t be the last one. A 300cc sports tourer was snapped inside Benelli’s facility.
The bike that was spied is a fully-loaded sports tourer built on the TNT 300. There’s a top box, saddle box, leg guard and a taller windscreen. The bike is also equipped with fairing for better air flow at high speeds. The fuel tank on this model is bigger and also sports a sharper styling. This sports tourer is equipped with split seats and revised tail section.
Mechanically, this Benelli is expected to get its firepower from the same 300cc parallel-twin motor that produces around 38bhp and 26Nm of peak torque. It is still unclear if the Italian manufacturer will retune the engine to meet the extra torque needs.
The Benelli 302R didn’t impress us in the performance department due to the additional weight. With this bike, which could be called the Benelli BJ300GS, the weight will obviously on the higher side. So a 38bhp motorcycle with weight of around 200kg doesn’t look impressive. But it will definitely come to India as there is a market here for entry-level premium touring machines.
