Benelli has announced the launch of the new 502C middleweight cruiser in the Indian market at an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 4.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model from the Chinese-owned Italian two-wheeler brand will rival the likes of Kawasaki Vulcan S in the Indian market. Here we bring you the alternatives that potential buyers can consider in the same price range as the new Benelli 502C cruiser.
Benelli Leoncino 500 (Rs 4.70 lakh)
Benelli’s scrambler-style motorcycle, the Leoncino 500 is available at a lower price tag than the new cruiser model. Both motorcycles use the same 500cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 46.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 46Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The scrambler-style motorcycle from the Chinese brand gets relatively sportier ergonomics than the 502C cruiser and features a neo-retro design. The hardware on the Leoncino 500 comprises full-LED lighting, a twin-pod LCD instrument cluster, 12.7-litre fuel tank, upside-down front forks, rear mono-shock, dual discs on the front wheel, a single rotor at the back, and dual-channel ABS.
Benelli TRK 502 (Rs 4.86 lakh)
Buyers interested in a touring-focussed motorcycle can consider the Benelli TRK 502. The adventure tourer from the two-wheeler brand carries a marginally lower price tag than the 502C cruiser. The Benelli TRK 502 shares its 500cc, twin-cylinder motor with the Leoncino 500 scrambler and the 502C cruiser. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the engine produces 46.8bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 46Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The feature list on the TRK 502 comprises a twin-pod headlight with LED DRL, a semi-digital instrument cluster, a 20-litre fuel tank, and backlit switchgear. The hardware comprises inverted front forks, a rear mono-shock, dual discs on the front wheel, a single disc at the back, and dual-channel ABS. The road-biased adventure motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends.
CFMoto 650MT (Rs 5.29 lakh)
The recently updated CFMoto 650MT BS6 is available at a premium price tag over the Benelli 502C. For that price premium, the middleweight adventure tourer gets a more powerful engine. The 649cc, twin-cylinder motor on the 650MT is tuned to produce 55.6bhp at 8,250rpm and 54.4Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. The feature list on the CFMoto adventure tourer comprises full-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and a dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle uses a semi-fairing design along with a tall windscreen and upright ergonomics that are aimed to enhance its touring capabilities. The hardware on the 650MT includes 17-inch wheels on both ends, upside-down front forks, rear mono-shock, dual rotors at the front, and a single disc at the back.
CFMoto 650GT (Rs 5.59 lakh)
The CFMoto 650GT BS6, too, recently joined the company’s India portfolio. The sports tourer from CFMoto is available at a higher price tag than the Benelli cruiser. However, this motorcycle features a larger displacement engine that makes more power and torque than the 502C. The 649cc, twin-cylinder motor on the 650GT makes 55.6bhp at 8,250rpm and 54.4Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. The sports tourer features as full-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, 12-volt socket, and dual-channel ABS. The hardware on the motorcycle includes 17-inch wheels on both ends, upside-down forks at the front, mono-shock at the back, twin front discs, and a single rear rotor.
Kawasaki Vulcan S (Rs 6.10 lakh)
The Kawasaki Vulcan S, which is a direct threat to the Benelli 502C, carries a considerably higher price tag of Rs 6.10 lakh. The Japanese cruiser motorcycle uses a 649cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that makes 59.9bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 62.4Nm of peak torque at 6,600rpm. The feature list on the Kawasaki Vulcan S is relatively subtle than its Chinese rival. The Japanese motorcycle uses a halogen headlight and a semi-digital instrument cluster. The hardware on the Vulcan S comprises conventional telescopic front forks, a rear mono-shock, single disc brakes on both wheels, and a dual-channel ABS.
