- Looks similar to the Benelli 402S cruiser
- It gets the same engine as the TRK 502
- It is expected to be launched in India
Benelli unveiled its middle-weight cruiser motorcycle, the 502S at the Thai Motor Show 2018. The motorcycle looks very similar to its lower capacity sibling, the 402S which was unveiled at the 2017 EICMA in Milan, Italy.
Similar to the Benelli 402S, the 502S also draws inspiration from the Ducati Diavel power cruiser. The headlamp is a quirky vertical unit with a tiny instrument cluster on top. The handlebar is wide and easy-to-reach for increased comfort which is further supported by a scooped seat. The long fuel tank and high-set tail section add to its similarity with the Ducati Diavel.
Powering the 502S is the same engine which propels the TRK 502 adventure bike. The 500cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor generates 47bhp of power and 45Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed transmission. Anchorage on the 502S cruiser is provided by a pair of petal disc brakes on the front and a single disc at the rear while dual-channel ABS is a standard fitment. For soaking bumps, it gets upside down front forks and rear monoshock.
Benelli will be launching new products in India sometime next year. This might include the 502S along with the 402S and the TRK 502 adventure bike which was recently espied here.
