- Partnership with Adishwar Auto Ride India inked
- To start assembling motorcycles by the end of 2018
Benelli has made a formal announcement regarding their new business venture with Adishwar Auto Ride India (AARI), a subsidiary of Mahavir Group. AARI has taken charge of the Italian manufacturer’s operations in India from DSK Motowheels.
Mahavir Group is an automotive conglomerate which runs a bunch of luxury car dealerships along with the Benelli dealership in Hyderabad. Benelli and Mahavir Group will be setting up an assembly plant in the outskirts of Hyderabad. This plant will become operational by the end of 2018. While Benelli hasn’t confirmed this, reports suggest that the brand might also start manufacturing motorcycles in India.
Benelli commenced its operations in India in October 2014 in association with DSK Motowheels. The brand enjoyed a successful run thanks to models like TNT 600i, TNT 300 and the TNT 25. The brand has a wide footprint across the country, with 25 dealerships. However, with DSK Group running into financial troubles, the company’s operations were temporarily halted. Now though, things are back on track thanks to the partnership with Mahavir Group.
