Benelli has delivered its 300th motorcycle in Tamil Nadu within a year of opening a showroom in the state. The Italian marque commemorated this feat by organising a celebratory ride with Benelli owners in Chennai.
The sole Benelli showroom in Tamil Nadu is located in the Anna Salai locale, near Gemini flyover. While the showroom was opened just over a year ago, it has already clocked over 400 bookings, of which 300 bikes have already been delivered. Benelli entered the Indian market last year in association with Pune-based DSK Motowheels. Thanks to the exotic appeal and the lucrative pricing, made possible by the local assembly of its entire range, Benelli has made a big impact in the premium motorcycle market space in a short period of time. The company currently has a six motorcycle line-up in the country, starting with the quarter-litre single-cylinder TNT 25 to the full-blown litre-class streetfighter, the TNT R.
Expressing delight over this achievement, Mr Shirish Kulkarni, chairman, DSK Motowheels said, “DSK Benelli has received a truly phenomenal response in Chennai. There is a vibrant superbiking culture in the city, and its people have embraced DSK Benelli superbikes with great enthusiasm. We are delighted at recording delivery of 300 superbikes within a year.”
