- Benelli’s manufacturing and assembly facility in Hyderabad closed

After several two-wheeler manufacturers closing down operations amidst the Coronavirus outbreak in India, Benelli has also followed the suit by shutting down its manufacturing and assembly plant based out of Hyderabad.
The move comes in accordance with the directives issued by the government related to measures needed to be taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 virus. While the production department will resume operations post 31 March, employees working in other sections will continue working from home even after the said date.
As we had reported recently, Benelli plans to start rolling out its BS6 models from next month and the first offering to be updated will be the Imperiale 400. Owing to the disruptions caused due to Coronavirus, this launch might get slightly delayed.
Benelli went quite aggressive in terms of expanding its product portfolio in India last year. After making a comeback in 2018, it has introduced the Royal Enfield Classic 350-rival Imperiale 400, Leoncino 500 and Leoncino 250 along with the ADV siblings, the TRK 500 and 500X. The company certainly has more interesting products in pipeline for India, which are likely to be launched over the course of next few months.
