Benelli Imperiale 400 BS6: Top 5 Highlights

Benelli has announced the launch of the BS6-compliant Imperiale 400 in the Indian market. The latest iteration of the motorcycle, which complies with the newest emission norms, has been priced at Rs 1.99 lakh. Here we list the top five highlights of the Benelli Imperiale 400 BS6.

Design

The BS6-compliant Imperiale 400 retains the retro-styling of the BS4 model. There are no changes in terms of design, and the BS6 version continues to feature a double-cradle frame, circular headlamp, peanut-shaped fuel tank with pads on either side, split seat, straight handlebar and wire-spoke wheels. The motorcycle is available in three colours – Silver, Red and Black.

Features and Hardware

The feature list, similar to the design of the motorcycle, remains unaltered, and the Imperiale 400 BS6 continues to use a halogen headlight and semi-digital instrument cluster. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the back. Braking power comes from single discs on both wheels while the safety net includes dual-channel ABS. The 205kg kerb weight of the bike is also the same as before.

Engine

Despite complying with the BS6 emission norms, the Imperiale 400 continues to draw 20.7bhp of power at 6,000rpm and 29Nm of torque at 3,500rpm from its 374cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected motor. The engine is linked to a five-speed gearbox.

The bookings for the motorcycle are currently open. Interested buyers can reserve a unit of the Imperiale 400 BS6 for a token amount of Rs 6,000. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 20,000 more than the BS4 version. The deliveries of the BS6 model will start from the first week of August 2020.

Warranty and After-sales Services

The Benelli Imperiale 400 BS6 is backed by a three-year/unlimited kilometres warranty as standard. The motorcycle comes with complimentary service for the first two years, covering five Periodic Maintenance Services. Buyers also get to be part of the company’s Imperiale Raiders riding group. Benelli is planning to commence rides for the Imperiale Raiders community once COVID-19 conditions stabilise. The company will conduct Breakfast Rides, Day Rides, Zonal Rides and National Rides.
