Benelli’s BS6-compliant Imperiale 400 is priced at Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, if you are in the market looking for a motorcycle with a similar price tag, there are four options to consider.
Jawa Perak: Rs 1.94 lakh
In a modern-classic guise as the Imperiale 400 is the Jawa Perak. While the Benelli sports chrome elements, the Perak adorns a blacked-out look. The factory-custom styled bobber has a distinctive look thanks to the ‘floating seat’ which features a monoshock underneath. Powering the motorcycle is a 334cc engine that produces 30bhp and 31Nm.
Royal Enfield Himalayan: Rs 1.89 lakh
While Royal Enfield sells the Imperiale 400-rivalling Classic 350, it also has the Himalayan in this price range. The adventure-touring motorcycle gets a 21-inch wheel upfront and a 17-inch wheel at the rear wrapped in dual-sport tyres. It also comes with features like switchable ABS that make it even more off-road friendly. The Himalayan uses a 411cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that puts out 24.3bhp and 32Nm.
KTM RC 200: Rs 2 lakh
If a modern-classic or an ADV is not what you want, the list also features a fully-faired motorcycle in the form of the KTM RC 200. The motorcycle offers a committed riding position thanks to the clip-on handlebar and rear-set footpegs. KTM has equipped the RC 200 with full-LED lighting for the headlamp, tail lamp and turn indicators. And underneath its trellis frame is a 199cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 25.1bhp and 19.5bhp.
KTM 250 Duke: Rs 2.05 lakh
KTM also has the 250 Duke which costs a nominal Rs 5,000 over the RC 200. The streetfighter gets sharp styling inspired by the 390 Duke. While the headlamp is conventionally-lit, it gets LED DRLs. Moreover, the tail lamp, and turn signals are also LED units. Powering the 250 Duke is a 248cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor that produces 29.6bhp and 24Nm.
