Following the announcement of commencing pre-bookings for the soon-to-be-launched Imperiale 400, Benelli India has released a video of its retro-styled motorcycle on its social media platforms. As reported earlier, the Imperiale 400 is scheduled to be launched during the festive season, giving the new product a strong boost in initial sales.
The video showcases several details of the retro-styled Imperiale 400. Starting from the front, it features a large round headlamp unit with a chrome casing flanked by circular turn indicators on either side. It gets a single-piece low-rise handlebar with chromed side mirrors and twin-pod semi-digital instrument console with a chrome bezel. Built around a steel double-cradle frame, it has a peanut-shaped fuel tank with rubber tank grip accompanied by a split-seat setup. The motorcycle comes with minimalistic painted body panels comprising of the tank, side panels and fenders. The video also has an audible exhaust note of the motorcycle which sure sounds promising considering it is a crucial factor for buyers in this segment. Besides that, the motorcycle was fitted with saddlebags which should be a part of the accessory list along with other products. Even the rider was seen sporting a Benelli branded leatherette jacket which will also be introduced soon after the bike’s launch.
The Imperiale 400 is powered by a 373.5cc single-cylinder SOHC mill that is rated to produce 19bhp and 28Nm which closely matched with the specs of Royal Enfield 350cc models. Transmission duties are handled by a five-speed constant mesh gearbox. For cycle parts, the Imperiale 400 features telescopic forks up front and twin shock absorber for the rear. Meanwhile, braking hardware comprises of disc brakes at both ends assisted by dual-channel ABS.
Benelli India will be offering the Imperiale 400 in three colour options while deliveries are expected to commence during Diwali. Interestingly, Benelli will be offering three-year unlimited kilometre warranty as standard on the purchase of every Imperiale 400. On the competition front, the retro-styled cruiser from Benelli will lock horns with 350cc range of Royal Enfields and also the Jawa models.
