- Benelli Leoncino 500 BS6 launched
- Prices start at Rs 4.59 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Rs 20,000 cheaper than its BS4 model
Benelli has launched the BS6 model of its middle-weight, scrambler-styled offering, the Leoncino 500, in India. The prices of the motorcycle start at Rs 4.59 lakh (ex-showroom) which makes it Rs 20,000 cheaper than its BS4 counterpart.
The only change it has received is in its engine which is now BS6 compliant. In spite of that, the performance numbers have remained unchanged. Propelling the bike is a 500cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine which produces 46.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 46NNm at 6,000rpm. This unit comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The styling, features and cycle parts of the Leoncino 500 have remained unaltered. So it continues with a round headlamp along with a rounded fuel tank which joins the narrow underseat panel to end into a sleek tail section. With a pulled-back handlebar, a single-piece seat and neutral-set footpegs, the motorcycle offers upright ergonomics. Features include full-LED lighting and a fully-digital instrument cluster with a unique twin-pod design.
Coming to its cycle parts, the Leoncino 500 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels which are stopped by dual 320mm disc at the front and a 260mm disc at the rear. A pair of 50mm inverted telescopic forks and a rebound and preload-adjustable monoshock concertedly handle the damping duties. The motorcycle sports a 12.7 litre fuel tank while its kerb weight stands at 207kgs.
The Benelli Leoncino 500 BS6 can be booked at a token amount of Rs 10,000 and the company is offering three-year unlimited kilometers warranty with the bike.
