- Is based on standard Leoncino 500
- Gets wire-spoke wheels
- No word about its India launch yet
Benelli has launched the Leoncino 500 Trail in the USA a couple of months after launching the standard Leoncino 500 there.
Now the Trail version is based on the regular version although with a few changes that give it proper scrambler characteristics. To begin with, the Leoncino 500 Trail rides on wire-spoke wheels- 19-inch at the front and 17-inches at the rear shod with Metzeler Tourance tyres. It also comes equipped with a taller handlebar as well as longer suspension travel at both ends.
However, the rest of the Leoncino 500 Trail is similar to the Leoncino 500 that was sold in India in its BS4 guise. It sports a retro-inspired styling and comes powered by a 499cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 48bhp of power and 45Nm of torque. In terms of features, the Benelli isn’t heavily equipped and comes with a digital instrument cluster and dual-channel ABS as standard.
While the Benelli Leoncino 500 Trail is already on sale in USA, there is no word about its Indian launch. In fact, Benelli only launched the Imperiale 400 as part of its BS6 line-up in 2020 and is likely keeping its arsenal ready for 2021.
