- Leoncino 800, Leoncino 800 Trail unveiled
- Gets new 754cc engine
- Equipped with fully-adjustable suspension
Benelli has pulled the wraps of its new 800cc motorcycles – the Leoncino 800 – a road focused model and the Leoncino 800 Trail – developed for off-road use as well.
These bikes were in development for a few years and now have finally made their presence felt in the world of modern retro segment. The Leoncino till now was available in 500cc variants, but now with the 800 models, the company would be able to go against the Triumphs and the Ducatis.
Both the bikes are built around tubular steel trellis frame that has a 754cc parallel-twin motor inside. This engine churns out 76bhp and good amount of torque too. There’s a six-speed gearbox with slipper clutch equipped on the bike. In terms of other cycle parts, there are things like Brembo brakes, fully-adjustable suspension and some fancy looking design elements.
The Leoncino 800 Trail looks more off-road ready, thanks to the presence of off-road tyres, high-mounted exhaust and a 19-inch front wheel. This model also gets a taller suspension setup for better off-road performance but it also increase the overall seat height by a couple of inches.
Benelli India is likely to bring one of these models to India next year and that model we think will be the Leoncino 800 Trail as it looks more aspirational. But expect it to become the most expensive Benelli on sale when it comes next year.
