The Benelli Patagonian Eagle 250 has been spotted undergoing trials in India. Based on the Keeway Dorado 250, the Patagonian Eagle 250 features a 250cc parallel twin engine.
While the test mule was heavily camouflaged, it is pretty evident that the motorcycle was a Patagonian Eagle 250. The Patagonian Eagle 250 has been designed to resemble a traditional American cruiser. It gets all the customary design cues, like low-slung styling, teardrop tank, wide handlebar, twin-pod instrument cluster and a pillion backrest. The liberal use of chrome gives it a bling factor.
At the heart of the Patagonian Eagle 250 is a 249 cc liquid-cooled four-valve parallel-twin that produces a modest 17.4bhp and 16.5 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The Patagonian Eagle 250 rides on 18-inch front and 15-inch rear alloy wheels. Suspension setup consists of conventional telescopic forks up front and dual springs in the rear. At 695mm, the seat height of the Patagonian Eagle 250 is lower than that of the Bajaj Avenger, which should make it popular in India.
This is the first time that the Patagonian Eagle 250 was spotted testing in India. While there has been no word from the company regarding its launch in India, this test mule suggests that the company is considering launching it here. In case it is introduced here, the Patagonian Eagle 250 will compete against the Hyosung Aquila GV250 and the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500.
