Benelli’s foray in India seems to have started off with a bang, as the Italian manufacturer registered its 100th motorcycle delivery in Bengaluru. Having achieved this milestone within a short span of just 90 days, Benelli celebrated this occasion by organising a short ride from the Bengaluru showroom in Richmond Circle to Kolar.
Benelli marked its entry in the Indian market in March this year, in association with Pune-based two-wheeler manufacturer, DSK Motowheels. Since the launch of its exclusive DSK Benelli showrooms, the company has been receiving an overwhelming response. The company currently sells five Benelli motorcycles in India – the TNT 300, TNT 600i, TNT 600GT, TNT 899 and the TNT 1130. All the bikes are sold in India via the completely-knocked-down (CKD) route, with the components being imported from China and Italy. The company is also planning to introduce two new models – TNT 250 and TreK 1130 Amazonas, over the next few months.
Speaking about this achievement, Mr Shirish Kulkarni, chairman, DSK Motowheels said, “Bengaluru, in recent times, has emerged as a city with a particular fondness for motorsports. The remarkable feat of achieving 100 superbike sales in three months in Bengaluru alone, not only highlights the brand value and customer patronage of DSK Benelli, but also demonstrates the growing market for superbikes in India.”
