Select Benelli dealerships have started accepting bookings for the Tornado 302R for a token amount of Rs 30,000. The 300cc super sports bike is expected to go on sale in India in May.
The Tornado 302R is a fully-faired version of the TNT 300 streetfighter. The front end gets a prominent twin headlamp setup. The partly exposed frame, sculpted fuel tank, twin exhaust setup and raised tail section enhance its exotic appeal. The Tornado 302R is built around a steel trestle frame, with a 300cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine at its heart. The engine delivers 36bhp and peak torque of 27Nm through a six-speed transmission. It rides on 41mm inverted front forks and a rear mono-shock. ABS is expected to be offered as standard.
Once launched, the Benelli Tornado 302R will compete with the Kawasaki Ninja 300, Yamaha YZF-R3 and the KTM RC390. The launch of the Tornado 302R will be followed by launch of the TRK 502 adventure touring motorcycle.
